Vinyl Graphics Removal Instructions

Supplies:

  • Hair Dryer/Heat Gun
  • Plastic Scraper/Squeegee
  • Squirt Bottle & Sponge
  • Deslovit (Sold in Marine Center.)Acetone (nail polish remover)/Water mix 50:50 ratio
  • Soapy Water (1 capful liquid detergent/1 pint water)

Read all directions before starting.

Step 1 Preparing Vinyl: Apply heat directly to the graphics you wish to remove until letters are bubbly. Depending on the temperature, the time it takes will vary. The warmer the temperature, the quicker the process.

Step 2 Removing Graphic: Peel off whatever graphics you can peel of with your hands. Scrape off whatever you need to with the plastic scraper.

Step 3 Cleaning Residue: Spray Desolvit or place the Acetone/Water solution in the spray bottle and spray the residue left behind let the solution sit for a couple of minutes.
Wipe off with the sponge.

Step 4 Preparing Area for New Graphic: Remove the Acetone/Water solution or Desolvit with the soapy water then go over the same area with a cleaning solution composed of 2 parts water and 1 part isopropyl alcohol. You are then ready to apply your new graphic!
